This is the better version and infact, one the previous rounds recorded before the third one which is also posted up. There are more scuffles and rushes in this fight and I think that this is the one where I got my shiner. So this is Tang Soo Do vs Wing Chun-- and the Wing Chun practioner here is a good friend of mine, so we agreed to do this fight. He's over six feet tall.. so he has height advantage, and I'm the shorter fighter in the karate gi. We're not here to destroy one another or hurt each other's pride. So you MMA fanboys wanting to see someone get murdered... Go elsewhere. There is a moment where no music plays in the video.. Thats Windows Movie Editor for you... Soo Bahk Do translates literally as "hand strike way" or "way of the striking hand". The history of Soo Bahk Do can be traced back over 2000 years to the Ko Ku Ryo Dynasty in ancient Korea. In Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan, Soo Bahk Do is the art (the technical side) and Moo Duk Kwan is the style (the philosophical side -- see: About the Organisation for more information). The difference between Soo Bahk Do and all other martial arts, and the thing that makes Soo Bahk Do unique, are its versatility and philosophy. Throughout the centuries, Korea has been attacked and invaded by its surrounding neighbours many times, and as such Soo Bahk Do became versatile out of necessity. This has resulted in an art that demands mastery of the whole body, not just kicking and punching. The challenging techniques taught range from fast, spontaneous movements to slow, graceful flowing movements that not only give variety but challenge students at all levels. As a classical martial art, the purpose of Soo Bahk Do is "to develop every aspect of the self in order to create a mature human being who totally integrates intellect, body, emotions and spirit". Soo Bahk Do is an art, not a sport and a great emphasis is placed on the fact it is non-competitive, however Soo Bahk Do does have strong combat and self-defence applications.

Tonight, I was invited to my friend's Wing Chun school to participate in a sparring class with three chosen students hand picked by the school's sifu, and I actually learned alot from these three sparring matches. What you are watching here is the first fight, and here, I am dressed in my school's uniform-- the Do-Bahk (Gi)... My opponent is a Blue Sash named Bill, who has studied Mantis Kung-Fu and Hungar. So I had a fight here.. After having participated in the sparring matches, I made alot of new friends and garnered alot of respect from the Wing Chun students... I really learned alot tonight... Also, the music tracks in this fight video are from Gundam Battle Assault.

This is the Dutch Team showing their skills in the 2009 World Tang Soo Do Championships in Rotterdam, Holland. They were held on March 20, 21 and 22 of 2009. The the first day was a seminar. The second day was the opening ceremony folowed by various Hyung competitions (teams, black belts, children and adults). The sparring competitions where held on the third day, as well as the teamsparring and the Grand Champion divisions. This is the Dutch team in the Team Hyung competition.
